The Queensland Volvo & Saab Club will be heading south this May for a visit to one of Australia's most remarkable automotive landmarks - Flynn's Wrecking Yard, located at 408 Snowy Mountains Highway, Dairymans Plains NSW 2630.

Our convoy will depart on 2 May, with the main visit to Flynn's scheduled for 4 May.

Set against the wide, open landscape of the Snowy Mountains region, Flynn's Wrecking Yard is far more than a dismantler. Established in 1962, the yard has become a sprawling outdoor archive of motoring history. Hundreds upon hundreds of vehicles - many rare, unusual or long out of production - rest exactly where they were parked decades ago. The result is part wrecking yard, part time capsule.

For enthusiasts of classic and obscure machinery, the site offers an opportunity to see vehicles that have vanished from Australian roads. Weathered paint, chrome softened by time, dashboards frozen in mid-century design - it is an environment that quietly documents changing engineering philosophies and design trends across generations.

The visit will provide members with time to explore the yard, photograph vehicles, and appreciate the scale of the collection. The rural setting adds to the atmosphere, with expansive skies and alpine light giving the site a distinctly Australian character.

This run is intended as both a social drive and a shared experience centred on automotive history. The journey itself will be part of the appeal, with members travelling together through regional New South Wales before arriving at Dairymans Plains.

Further details, including accommodation information, convoy arrangements and meeting points, will be released shortly.
